According to Poki ‘ s report on the status of web games in 2026, 53 per cent of companies plan to transpose sub-flag mobile games to the web page within the next 12 months, compared to 41 per cent of PC and mainframe games.

The independent research company Atomik Research completed a field survey in May 2026, which surveyed 2,000 webplayers and 400 game developers in the United Kingdom and the United States to collect the reported data.
The results of the survey showed that 62 per cent of webplayers download or purchase games after their first online test. In high-intensity players, this proportion rises to 72 per cent. Of these, 37 per cent play web games many times a day, while 92 per cent consider the HTML5 to be of high quality. Nearly two thirds of the players also own the game host, of which PlayStation is the most prominent.
The report states that 58 per cent of webplayers play web games for free, while 56 per cent prefer this form because they are easily accessible. However, not all users are free players. It was reported that 27 per cent of web gamers consume more than $50 per month in the game.
The study found that Andre users were more likely than iOS users to spend up to $10 or $101 to $200 on the game. On the other hand, iOS users are more likely to spend $11 to $100 and $201 or more.

The report concludes that today, web games allow players to “what to play next”.
“Today’s web game promotes discovery, effectively attracts users in a fragmented economy of attention, displays games and IPs to high-value players willing to consume in a world they discover, and even reduces the time that consumers spend on social media,” said Stein Jansson, Chief Operator of Poki.
“The developers who have not yet turned to the web game did so correctly. However, they are increasingly likely to miss new trends in the game industry, which are driving income growth, higher retention rates for players and the promotion of game brands to new audiences.”
